In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Prepare the sauce:

  • Finely chop the garlic and onion.
  • Dice the tomatoes into small cubes.
  • In a large skillet, add a bit of olive oil and sauté the garlic and onion until golden.

Add the sausage:

  • Slice the sausage into rounds or small pieces (Mr. Tango Italian Hot Sausage).
  • Add the sausage to the skillet and cook until well browned. 

Make the tomato sauce:

  • Add the diced tomatoes to the skillet with the sausage.
  • Cook over medium heat until the tomatoes break down and form a sauce, about 10-15 minutes.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Combine with the spaghetti:

  • Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet and mix well to coat with the sauce.

Serve:

  • Serve the spaghetti on plates and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese.
  • Garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired.
